If you're reading this, you are potentially choosing to embark on an exciting adventure. Whether you are a buyer, seller or just curious about the possibilities of real estate in the Western Catskills, then you’re looking to find someone to help and guide you through this experience. Here’s some background on myself that may help you make this important decision:
I grew up in rural Nebraska and this area of the Catskills that I live in now reminds me of the sense of community and small town values that existed back there during my youth. After attaining a degree in Advertising, (with minors in Marketing, English, Sociology and Psychology), I eventually moved out to New York City, where I became a children’s music educator in a special needs setting. It was an unintended career choice that, in essence, chose me and I am the better for it. During that period, I also enjoyed performing as a musician/actor/improvisor in various venues in Manhattan. As our budget allowed, my wife and I would explore upstate New York to get a break from the city and we eventually decided to invest in a weekend home in the Catskills, while continuing to rent in the city. This was one of the wisest moves we ever made: taking a risk and investing our hard earned money into something that we could actually touch, feel and use. This asset ended up rejuvenating us on a weekly basis.
So please consider this: I have been in your shoes. I have been a buyer, a seller and a perpetual “lookie loo.” I have the personal experience of completing the transactions for a number of land, foreclosure, turn-key and fixer upper properties, not to mention what it takes to maintain a weekend home up here in these mountains. Real estate transactions require consideration, persistence and most importantly, timely follow up. Know that I am familiar with the stress, challenges and fears that accompany all of this, but as they say, “Anything worth doing should make you nervous.”
I will be here to encourage you to embrace the challenge of this opportunity and help make this a pleasurable process in becoming a part of this community. I can confirm to you from my own experience, the dividends are invaluable.
